The roof, windows and doors....
We've been away for a 3 week holiday... but finally an update!
Precious and Timo started on the ceiling... fitting reeds in behind the roof logs.
My son, Mischa slept in a tent in the loft (our future bedroom) while on holiday from Namibia.....

Blessing and Stephen sanded down the logs on the inside of the house with a sanding disk on an angle grinder.

After the logs were sanded, they sealed them with
Timber-care Interior sealant.
Here you can see the difference between the sanded and sealed finish and the natural, pealed log.
You can see the the difference between the white gum and the pink gum.
The logs look beautiful!

The windows and doors.
Wayne cut out the kitchen window...
We inserted the frame that Darryl had built into the hole.
Then the lounge window was chain-sawed out ...
Then the window frame was put in and secured to the log wall with re-bar.
Then Wayne cut out the double door onto the patio...
Before the cut....
During.....
After...
Darryl busy with the frame for the double door.
As you can see, the garage has been turned in to a serious work room!
Darryl tries to fit the frame, but it doesn't quite fit...
... so a little more of the log surface has to be chiseled away so that the frame can fit into the hole nice and snugly.
Once the frame is in, Stephan begins to chink up the gaps around the frame.
