Windows with glass!

Image
Darryl  designed and built the frames for the windows.  It's taken a few weeks for him and Wayne to build, install and seal the wood. We had to take careful measurements and get the glass ordered.... but finally we were able to put the glass in. It took one and a half days... a huge mile-stone achieved. Taking the 'scaffolding' down Now that the glass is in, we cleared the scaffolding away and started bringing in the machines to plane the wooden floorboards. Laying the floorboards (blue-gum) is the next big task. _____________________________

(Bear in mind they are working about 4 stories up above the ground.... about 10m up!) Below - the framework is done and just waiting for the glass. The second A-Frame Halfway there...  And the A-frame window panes are ready for the glass. Darryl welded 2 brackets to secure the window frames to the upright pole. Sprinkler system Before the glass goes in, Darryl put in a sprinkler system under the eves of the house so that if there is a fire threat, this would spray water onto the bamboo and logs. Preparing for the glass. The double doors are a particularly finiky job getting the latches etc in...  but it's going well. Steva...
