The first A-Frame window

Firstly, all the wood to be used for the A-frames had to be sealed - three times!

Then, Darryl and Wayne had to build a triangle frame and bolt it onto the logs to create an even surface on which to build the glass partitions.

(Bear in mind they are working about 4 stories up above the ground.... about 10m up!)

Below - the framework is done and just waiting for the glass.

The second A-Frame

Halfway there...

And the A-frame window panes are ready for the glass.

Darryl welded 2 brackets to secure the window frames to the upright pole.

Sprinkler system

Before the glass goes in, Darryl put in a sprinkler system under the eves of the house so that if there is a fire threat, this would spray water onto the bamboo and logs.

Preparing for the glass.

The double doors are a particularly finiky job getting the latches etc in...  but it's going well.

Stevan patched up the holes around all the window frames with cement.

 The glass is in!!!

Water pipes

Darryl found a good tip on youtube for getting your water pipes feeding the JoJo tanks from the gutters, to blend in with the wood.
Scrape the plastic pipe with a heavy wood rasp...

....then rub oil based paint on with a cloth making sure it goes into all the grooves...

Not bad!

It definitely blends in better than a stark white pipe!

Bamboo

While Darryl and Wayne were working with the A-frames,
the team began to use up the spare bamboo underneath the house to create a wonderful safari area.
First a cement platform was built... and upright rods placed in the cement ...

The bamboo was measured and cut to size....

....then the bamboo was tied to the poles and secured with cross-pieces.

The JoJo tanks will be enclosed soon....

Safari-area

Precious and Blessing began to build my dream out-door shower...

The safari toilet.

I decided to zoot up the safari area toilet ..... which looks awesome!
I first painted the wood with Mahogany wood sealant.

Stenciled and Spray painted the door...

And using tile cement... made some fun murals on the walls.

...and tiled the floor!
