Building the dry walls. .... doing the plumbing... Resting..... Fitting the partition sheets and think-pink Crete-stoning the walls...  Filling in the cracks between the planks with sikoflex. Sanding the floors. (We hired an industrial sander.) Sealing the 'red' gum floor of the bedroom....  ... and the white gum of the lounge and kitchenette. Ta daa. The garage floor got screed-ed... The tools and machines moved in...  A little parapet built so we don't drive off the edge of the drive way... The drive-way cleared and our last left over tree trunk  re-positioning  to a place of honor at the front door... (It was heavy!)   Wayne built a new temporary stair case... (the old one of bricks got used up in the parapet.)  I sanded down the new bathroom shelf.. applied sealant... Ta daa... The shower floor......

The roof All the roof structure is on:  The roof trusses, furring's, purlins and facia boards screwed together with hurricane clips and self-tapping coach screws. The sisalation (the silver stuff) and isotherm (the green stuff) are fixed on to the purlins and the Kingklip 700 (the grey roof sheets) goes on top. The garage roof all but done. The A-frame took the longest to complete, as usual. It took almost a whole day just to get the two valleys just right, And finally.... ..... We have a roof! Flooring Meanwhile, the team began the flooring inside the flat. Wiring and other necessities... In between everything, Darryl wired up the whole house; Timo and Lobson stacked the left over logs on sacrificial logs so we can use them later to cut planking for bookshelves etc; We had the 2 electric garage doors installed; The guys worked floor-board planks; And Darryl and Wayne...

The roof! Putting the roof on is no joke. The trickiest part was the A-frame. No-one building this house has ever put a roof on before in person - so things got complicated! First we had to get the roof truss poles up, joined, and re-bared into the main ridge pole. Darryl, Wayne and team got the A-frame poles bolted in good and tight.... .....And then Darryl saw the light...... .....and realized that the A-frame structure was all wrong.  They had to take it all apart (no walk in the park - ''re-bar sticks like S@£t on a nappy'' quote / unquote)  and build it all again to get the correct slope into the 'valleys.' The A-frame is finally taking shape on the third attempt. _________________ Now, work began on the garage roof.
